What is MEPP?
Medical Equipment Provision Program (MEPP)
Through this Provincial program, Health Authorities will rent equipment on behalf of the patients and clients leaving the hospital or receiving home healthcare services.
We serve patients and clients referred from the Fraser Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health, Vancouver Island Health Authority, Interior Health Authority and Providence Health Care across BC.
The Process.
Patient needs
The patient — either at home or at the hospital — presents a need for medical equipment in order to return or be able to live safely at home.
Medical Assessment
A health authority clinician — Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Nurse — will assess and determine what equipment is needed and for how long.
Funding Assessment
The clinician will determine if there is another possible source of funding — Extended Health Benefits, Veteran’s Affairs, ICBC, WSBC, Ministry, etc.
Delivery and Installation
Once the equipment is prescribed by the health authority clinician, we deliver and install the equipment — if applicable.
How MEPP works
Getting the equipment you need!
A health authority clinician will assess your needs and prescribe the equipment.
Then, you will receive two forms:
- a referral form that approves the rental. This form also includes the rental due date and where to return the equipment.
- an equipment form that indicates what equipment you need.
