THE ROLE

This is a full-time on-site role for a Medical Equipment Technician at BC MEDEQUIP Home Health Care Ltd. in Coquitlam, BC. The technician will be responsible for repair, install, and delivery of durable medical equipment according to the manufacturer’s specifications. The company provides the technical training required.

This is a customer-centric position, where the Technician needs to engage with customers in a respectful and compassionate manner as needed to ensure the equipment is set up for their comfort and safe use.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Install, repair, deliver medical equipment at clients homes or facility on a timely basis
  • Instruct the client on the use of the basic equipment delivered
  • Read and follow road and street maps
  • Complete all paperwork accurately
  • Maintains company vehicle – neat and orderly
  • Competent to perform the services in a healthcare setting
  • Follows delivery, install, pick up, and safety procedures as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • A valid BC driver’s license with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience, acceptable driver abstract
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • A Criminal Record Check is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office, Internet, and email
  • Technical skills: knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • A strong work ethic and outgoing positive attitude
  • Can work independently and problem solve when issues arise
  • Must have excellent customer service, organizational and time-management skills and be detail-oriented
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Work within a team environment and independently
  • Pay attention to detail and have organization skills
  • Willing to learn and be part of this growing company

  • Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises
  • Ability to concentrate and remain focused while handling multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects

  • Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Have clear and concise communication skills — both verbal and written
  • Must be able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, and reaching
  • Requires pushing and pulling, including occasional lifting up to 100 lb
